Staying at the Serena
I enjoyed my stay at the Serena GOMA Hotel. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff is professional and very friendly. I encourage anyone who is travelling to GOMA to really consider staying at this beautiful hotel. I will definitely return on my next trip.

Serena not worth it, really poor services.
Really bad experience .. changed rooms twice first my room water system failed as shower and bath tub had only very very hot water. Second room television screen was blank. Restaurant experience 5/10. Cut fruits are not fresh. Not worth anyone's money at all. Better off paying for a regular hotel than an expensive 5 star hotel with poor services.

Unfortunate situation
The hotel is as great for hospitality as expressed by other reviewers. I would even rate it as amongst the best ones in DRC.
However, the very liberal approach to lose women activities, encouraged by some of the staff who do seem to even take advantage of it, leads some of the guests to consider any dark skin female visitor as fair game and harass them with persistence. Two of my Congolese friends, although dressed with modesty, who came to visit during my stay had to face such such embarrassing situation what led them to leave the place.
As mentioned in some earlier review, control over guests behavior leaves much to desire and relevant measures should be put in place.

Welcome new addition and the Goto place in Goma
Excellent hotel by Lake Kivu. Has a great outdoor sitting area served by the restaurant. Reasonably priced restaurant but with limited menu. Courteous staff, although service can be at an easy pace. The swimming pool is a wonderful place to lounge around. Actual artworks are displayed in the lobby/reception area with price tags and are available for sale.

Excellent hotel
We were 17 people that stayed in the Serena Hotel for more than a week. The service was excellent. The breakfast was great. The restaurant offered a variety of delicious food. The main language is French. The view is splendid. Nice gym and spa. Highly recommended.
