It wasn't a problem for us, but there are some steep ramps getting to some of the rooms and from the road to the parking lot. If you have mobility issues, be sure to check with the staff about options.

The rooms were comfortable and well appointed, if a little dated, but this added to the overall charm.
The food for breakfast and dinner was great, with plenty of choice, and they were able to cater for a vegan diet, which was very much appreciated.
The staff were amazing. Friendly and attentive.
The Trapp Family Hotel is located close to the Monteverde Cloud Forest and easily reached on foot. However, everywhere else in Monteverde is really only accessed by car, it is a long way to walk on a gravel road and we didn’t try to walk into town.
All in all we would highly recommend the Trapp Family Hotel to anyone looking for a beautiful location to stay with friendly staff. We wouldn’t hesitate to return if we visit Monteverde in the future.

The staff were amazing. Friendly and attentive, especially Lidier and Emanuel (great cocktails) and the breakfast staff, whose names we didn’t get.
